just when I thought my search was over, half of you scared the crap out of me with your thoughts on the Allroad. But a late contender has arrived. He emailed me after the post late last night

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

He is a repair shop. he bought the car at auction so has little knowledge of the car. It had some front end damage including hood radiator and compressor which have all been replaced with new parts and painted the front end. he said there was no damage to the bumper.

could anyone run a carfax for me? I’d love to see the history. I was thinking of offering $6k if and only if the timing chain can be proven to have been replaced.

1000 haha (i dont know) i called Audi to see if they are capable of pulling repair records ona VIN. they said not if it wsn;t serviced there and asked what car it was. the tech then proceeded to say ‘aw hell naw’

Reports as an S4 no accidents, but it only gives it a 54 vehicle score, not sure why. Says it has a Loan/lein record.

It was originally leased but doesn’t give any other updates in the report other than “registration issued”

It has no record of maintenance in the system, which I would suspect would show up if it was serviced at a dealer, but it’s always a dealers CHOICE to report that stuff.

This one runs of autocheck btw, not carfax, sometimes they have differences, for example maybe audi dealers report maintenance only to carfax.

Yeah it wasn’t reported then.

Always remember that if they plow into a tree on their own property they technically don’t have to report it to anyone. then it doesn’t end up on a reporting site.

Well, they auto drop them based off year, mileage, and rarity to a range.

Maybe this one’s typical vehicle range was from 46-54. They’ll go out side it if needed, but mainly because of drastic low mileage or something.

I know! It’s about 5 blocks from my house. I may go on a run later and happen by it. The pics make it look a little “rode hard and put away wet”. I’m not sure the dealer knows what he has.
